Girls’ Generation’s Sunny has become ‘National SoonKyu’.
On the recent episode of KBS’s ‘Invincible Youth 2′, every member of G8 visited grandmothers in Daebu Island and became their granddaughters for a day.
On this day, Sunny, along with Bora, visited a grandmother, who wasn’t feeling well and they helped to prepare a meal before eating together to have some meaningful time.
When they first met the grandmother, they introduced themselves after telling the grandmother that they have come to be granddaughters. Also, by chance, Bora had the same name as the grandmother’s real granddaughter.
As soon as Sunny asked the grandmother, “Do you prefer to call me Sunny or SoonKyu?”, the grandmother answered “SoonKyu”. Sunny then stated, “No doubt I am SoonKyu.”
It was also said that all the elders were very fond of the familiar name ‘SoonKyu’ during the recording of ‘Invincible Youth 2′. Even during the entrance ceremony to the village, most elders were busy calling Sunny by the name ‘SoonKyu’.
